SHRINK DROWNING

Arriving under his new Shrink moniker, 'Drowning' is the empathic comeback single from hotly-tipped 22 year old songwriter and producer Sam Breathwick. Cradled by seasick guitar work and intriguing chord changes, Breathwick's accomplished vocal melodies lead the way on 'Drowning'. Written from the perspective of his brother, 'Drowning' explores themes of loss and depression and the crushing effects they can have on our mental health. Freed from an overwhelming sense of hopelessness, through uplifting backing vocals and shimmering, lo-fi production, sonically 'Drowning' remains relatively upbeat as sweeping synths and R&B inspired beats add a danceable lightness. Accompanied by an impactful video directed by Ethan Barrett + Tom Gullam (who've worked on videos for TMR faves Flohio, Connie Constance, The Murder Capital, and more) it's a moving release that's definitely worth your time. -Holly Mullineaux
